“Self-Kindness First: Build Resilience, Empathy, and Better Client Results as a Coach”
This webinar is specifically designed for members of The Sakartvelo Chapter of ICF, to support the professional development of the chapter members and deepen their coaching practice.
Learning Objectives By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
• Define self-kindness/self-compassion and distinguish it from self-esteem or self-confidence, drawing from Buddhist psychology and Kristin Neff's research.
• Apply self-kindness practices to enhance personal self-awareness, manage self-judgment during challenges, and prioritize actions aligned with personal values.
• Recognize how cultivating self-kindness strengthens the coach's internal state, enabling more empathetic, non-judgmental, and sustainable client support.
• Use reflective tools (e.g., self-compassion assessment) to identify and address personal barriers to embodying a coaching mindset.
Specific Subjects Covered
• Definition and key elements of self-kindness (e.g., treating oneself with warmth/patience during failure or flaws; unconditional self-worth).
• Psychological and evidence-based benefits (e.g., Neff's Self-Compassion Scale; impacts on well-being, resilience, and leadership).
• Practical application: Reflective exercises.
• Integration into coaching: Modeling self-compassion to better "care for others" and sustain ethical practice.
